The 12 Days of Christmas Outfits: Day 7 – The Polka Dot Swing Dress
I’ll be honest: I was starting to worry that I wouldn’t actually make it to the end of this ’12 Days of Christmas Outfits’ thing.
As predicted, while I do have a lot of clothes, this year in particular I’ve been on a mission to stock up on good quality basics, and the dressier side of my wardrobe has suffered a little a result – which is a bit of a bind when you decide to wear a bunch of party outfits in the run-up to Christmas. Luckily for me, though, Collectif came to the rescue, and sent me this gorgeous Regina doll dress – plus some other pieces, which you’ll be seeing soon – so the day was saved. Think of Collectif as a kind of Fashion Blogger Fairy Godmother in this situation. And think of me as Cinderella, obviously: not just in this situation, but ALL the time. Because that would be AWESOME.
This dress is actually one I’ve had my eye on for a while now, for obvious reasons including the huge skirt (I’m wearing a petticoat underneath it, just FYI), the nipped-in waist, and, of course, the polka dots. Well, I never could resist a polka dot, could I? I also really like the teal colour, which is a little bit unusual, and while it’s not exactly “Christmassy”, it IS still a party dress, so it totally counts. With that said, I cam definitely see myself wearing this in the spring/summer too (well, assuming we actually get either of this seasons this year, and don’t just bypass them and go straight to autumn again…), so I’m confident it won’t end up like yesterday’s dress: lost and forgotten, at the back of the wardrobe. Maybe that’s a challenge I should set myself for next year: wear ALL the dresses. Or then again, maybe not…
