Sometimes it’s hot, sometimes it’s cold. Sometimes it still feels like summer, other times it does a passably good impression of the very depths of winter. You just never really know where you stand with September, do you? It’s like everyone’s least-favourite ex-boyfriend, really: if only we could just block its number, and stop returning its calls!
Alas, though, we have to just get on with it instead, and what better way to keep the September blues at bay than with a sneaky little H&M order? (No need to answer that question, by the way: I know there are plenty of better ways to beat the blues, it’s just that this is MY way, and I’m sticking to it. M’kay?) If you read my ‘Blogger Mailbag’ post last week, you’ve probably already seen this skirt, which arrived in an absolutely gigantic box. The other item in that box? Er, it was a candle, actually: and just a regular-sized candle at that. I’ve no idea why H&M thought it required such a huge box, but oh well: ours is not to question why…
Anyway, that box might have been (mostly) empty, but a quick look at the H&M website was enough to convince me that I could easily fill another one, if I had the means to. I’m resisting for now, but here are some of my favourite items from H&M right now, just in case you want to take delivery of a big ol’ box of your own. You’re welcome.
This whole look reminds me of this outfit, which I wore back in July. And no, the fact that I already have a near-identical one doesn’t stop me wanting THIS one. Should it?
02. Pink court shoes
Totally wouldn’t have guessed these were H&M, if I hadn’t seen them on the website. I also like the ‘light mole’ version, but the pink has won my heart.
It’s not ACTUALLY shaped like a bell, but it is very full, I’ll give it that…
It’s basic, but then, so am I. I could see this being one of those “wear every day” kind of dresses: totally simple, but so easy to dress up if you wanted to.
Look, they have polka dots on them: need I say more?
I’d actually discounted this when I saw it online, because I hate the fact that the lining is shorter than the skirt itself, but then I happened to see it in the window of an H&M I passed last week, and was immediately struck with the conviction that
the world my closet would be a better place with this skirt in it. I’ve yet to put this theory to the test, because I’m doing my best to resist the siren song of skirts right now (by which I mean, “I like to at least PRETEND I’m not going to buy them, even although I know I am”), but maybe I owe it to myself to find out for sure that I really do hate the lining? And there’s only one way to do THAT, isn’t there?
