Oh look, it’s ANOTHER Chi Chi London dress: what a surprise, huh? It’s almost like there ARE no other brands right now as far as I’m concerned, and honestly, there may as well not be. What can I say: when I like a brand, I REALLY like them, and I want to buy ALL THE THINGS, RIGHT NOW, BRING THEM TO ME.
I’ve actually wanted this particular dress for a while now: in fact, some of you may remember it from this post, in which I declared it to be “the perfect white dress”, and started babbling on about how I’d wear it with a baby pink cardigan and strappy sandals. Well, as it turns out, it’s actually the perfect off-white dress (I know it looks white in the photos, but it’s definitely off-white in real life…), and I didn’t wear it with a pink cardigan and stilettos (I will, though), because stilettos aren’t really practical in the middle of a field, and you know me, all about the practicality. That’s why I’m wearing a denim jacket, in fact, because what could be more practical and dressed-down than THAT?
Anyway, I discovered that this field was just full of buttercups when I was walking Rubin in it a couple of weeks ago, and I knew I’d have to come back at some point to get some photos in it. Then, the day this dress arrived, I looked at the weather forecast and realised it was probably going to be the last chance I was going to get all “summer”, so out we went. Later we sat in the garden for the first – and probably last – time this year, and had a glass of wine as the sun went down. I’m a bit sad not to have more days like this so far this year – I feel a bit like I’ve been cheated out of a summer, somehow – but to be perfectly honest, I didn’t expect to get to wear this dress AT ALL here, and was planning to just tuck it away for California, so I guess I got lucky, really. And hey, at least I got some nice photos to look back on!
