Outfit: Oasis camel knit midi dress
Well, it snowed again.
Don’t worry, I didn’t actually walk around in it wearing suede boots (or without a coat, obviously): that little dusting was all that was left of it by the time I left the house, and, well, it made a nicer photo backdrop than the wet, sludge-covered roads we’re left with after a snowfall, so I decided to take one for the team – or for the blog, rather.
(And yeah, the sunglasses had to come out again because I could NOT. STOP. BLINKING. Seriously, why can’t I stop blinking? It’s like some weird kind of Pavlovian response to the shutter clicking or something…)
But I’m not here to talk about snow OR about blinking. No, today I’m here to talk about this dress, which was one of those almost-accidental purchases, in that I swear I just added it to my basket so I could find out what the various shipping options were. No, really, I did. The problem came once I got to checkout – at which point I thought, “well, I’ve come this far: I might as well just click the ‘order’ button, purely out of, er, professional interest. That way I can see how quickly it arrives, and report back to my readers: I mean, it’s almost like I’m performing a public service here, isn’t it?”
Well, never let it be said that I’m the kind of person who would shirk her duty, so I ordered the dress, and I did it for YOU, people. And also for me, because let’s face it: this is the kind of dress that will be on constant rotation from now until May, probably. It’s warm, it’s stretchy, it’s easy to wear… it’s a miracle I’ve survived this long without it, actually. Oh, and it’s also available in grey: the temptation is strong, people…

I may have to *accidentally* purchase the grey version. The camel colour is fab on you.

Hi Amber, that look like the perfect winter jumper/outfit/dress I have been looking for. How are you able to walk in those heels?
Amber
I wrote a post here about how to walk in heels:

This dress is almost identical to the one that Collectif have made – but with longer sleeves, which I have to say appeals to me. I don’t understand the point of half sleeve jumpers in this country! And camel is such a useful colour… Stop making me want to buy all the things!
Amber
Yeah, that’s the one thing that puts me off the Collectif one: I lovethe look of three-quarter sleeves, but I’m always freezing in them, which makes me suspect that if I owned that dress I’d end up having to wear a cardi over it, which would spoil the effect a bit!
Myra
Love this outfit.
Victoria
Looking stunning in this outfit. xx

I just love how you’re able to match your handbags so perfectly with your outfits!

Suede is pretty resistant to snow, as long as it’s not melting. And even then, I find that my dark suede shoes handle water better than normal leather. As long as you’re not jumping on puddles, that is, but neither can survive that…
I know this because I just moved from Germany (plenty of snow, almost no rain) to the UK with an amazing collection of boots, all suede, that I barely get to wear now. *sigh*
Mana
Sigh, that is the perfect winter dress, and it looks amazing with those boots.
Tracey
That dress is such a good look on you! I can’t wear anything straight up and down, I need an a-line or I look all weird I think you need the grey one too. Just saying.
Claire
I would be so tempted for the grey version! I’ve never bought anything from Oasis before so I feel like I’m missing out <3

Love the camel dress you bought, I wish I had the silhouette to pull it off!
