This is my favourite sweater.
Like the slogan sweater I wore last week, it was another holiday purchase earlier this year: and by “holiday purchase” I mean, “I talked about it so much that Terry ended up buying it for me, just to shut me up.” Seriously, whatta guy! Actually, I have to admit, I mostly just wanted this because I’d been absolutely freezing on the plane ride to Tenerife, as I am on EVERY plane ride I ever take. You’d think I’d be better prepared by now, and honestly, I thought I WAS better prepared, but it turns out that a t-shirt, thin sweater and leather jacket are no match for airplane air conditioning, so I ended up trying to also cram Terry’s hoodie under that jacket, and not only was it not a good look, it also left me feeling a bit like Maggie from The Simpsons when she wears her snowsuit. So, yeah, not the most comfortable outfit I’ve ever worn, really.
This much thicker sweater, then, was really just supposed to be my “emergency”, wear-on-the-plane sweater, but then I realised how snuggy and warm it was, and it was on constant rotation for the rest of that spring. I did have to retire it for summer, but now it’s back – and even although it’s a lot baggier than I usually go for, I’m actually finding myself really drawn to the “big sweater, skinny pants” look right now, so I kind of wish I’d picked up one of the other colours that I seem to recall being available at the time. Regrets, I’ve had a few, ladies and gentlemen…
As for the trousers, they’re also from Mango, and I was so surprised to find cropped trousers that are actually cropped on my short legs that I ended up buying them in black, too. They also come in white and navy, though, and you have NO IDEA how much of an internal struggle I’ve been having not to order them all. None. I figured I might just wait until the rest of colours sell out in my size before deciding I can’t live without them, though: well, you know how much I enjoy a good shopping challenge…
