The 12 Days of Christmas Outfits: Day 2 – The Christmas Jumper

This is my one and only Christmas jumper.

It’s not that I don’t like Christmas jumpers, obviously. I mean, who doesn’t like a hilarious piece of themed knitwear, right?

Er…

OK, I’ll be honest: it IS that I don’t like Christmas jumpers. Or not the ones with flashing lights, and giant pictures of Santa Claus, and that kind of thing, anyway. You know the kind of thing that, a few years ago, would only have been seen at an ugly sweater party, but which people are now wearing completely without irony? Sorry, jumper lovers: I know you’re going to say I have no sense of humour, but they’re just not for me. Please don’t hate me.

This Christmas jumper, on the other hand? This one I love – and not just because it barely even counts as a “Christmas jumper”. No, I love it because it’s the perfect shade of forest green (Which means it works perfectly with 95% of my wardrobe…), it’s cropped, it’s fitted… in fact, there have been times throughout the year when I’ve really wanted to wear it, but have reluctantly put it back because despite not having a reindeer or something emblazoned on the front, it does seem just a little bit too wintry for July, somehow. Oh well, we’ve finally reached that one special time in the year when it’s totally appropriate to wear things like this, so jumper? This is your moment…

Oh, and before I forget: I just realised my last post on this whole ’12 Days of Christmas Outfits’ thing made it sound like the challenge was to actually WEAR the outfits for the full day. Now, I wish I could tell you it was going to be even THAT interesting, but sadly, it isn’t. Because my LIFE isn’t that interesting: this week, for instance, I’ll be getting a flu jab and giving the dog a bath, and I’m not going to do those things in sequins and stilettos, am I? (I mean, I DID consider it, but … no.) So I WILL be wearing some of the outfits in “real life”, but for the most part the challenge is simply to put the outfits together: just thought I’d clear that up.

I would never have thought of paring such a nice skirt with such a casual jumper but I love it! (also I am totally imagining you turning up for a flu jab in a sequin skirt …)

I love this skirt so much. From the first time I saw it. I wish I bought it when you first blogged it as they’re probably out of stock now.

The jumper goes lovely with it. I’m a fan of Christmas jumpers. I have way too many, but we have to wear them at work every day in December so that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it.

Hmmm given it will be 39 degrees here tomorrow, I am thinking our 12 days of Christmas dressing might just be swimwear or shorts and tees. Nonetheless for the record I HATE Christmas jumpers (fortunately it is never cold enough to wear them down-under!

Christmas jumper hater here! I did have one a few years ago, from Primark obviously because I hate CJs and I’m tight about clothes I hate… I binned it after a few wears and decided if people tell me I have to wear a CJ to a party I’ll wear a nice top or jumper with some sequins or sparkle because that’s more “me”. Harumpf. Bah humbug 🙂

I wore this skirt to one of my Christmas parties too! It’s normally my xmas day outfit! I’d never have thought about pairing it with a jumper as it seems so dressy but it looks fab!
