Exploring the Fife Coast
Every time the sun comes out in Scotland, people immediately start going around saying, “You know, it’s such a beautiful country: if we JUST got the weather!“
Well, it IS a beautiful country, and last week we DID get “the weather”, so we decided to head one of the prettiest parts of the Fife coastline for a day out. Actually, almost ALL of this coastline is on the scenic side: it’s just one pretty little seaside village after another -hence the complete photo overload in this post. Can you blame me, though? I mean, when the scenery is this nice, you just HAVE to photograph it – and luckily this time we remembered to bring the camera with us, which is always a good idea, I find.
These photos were taken in a selection of different places, but mostly in Elie and St. Monan’s, both of which had the most gorgeous floral displays, just in case the blue skies and cute little painted houses weren’t enough for you. Oh, and we also came across this, in St Monan’s:
It’s a Wellie Garden. And now I know what to do with all of those pairs of boots Terry is always falling over any time he attempts to open the hall cupboard…
Anyway, we had a lovely, relaxing day, and came home with sand in our shoes, and feeling a bit like we’d been on holiday, which is an awesome feeling, isn’t it? I just wish I could bottle that sunshine: after all, it really is a beautiful country… if we just got the weather.
