I’ve been doing a lot of complaining lately about how downright awful most maternity clothes are, so today I thought I’d switch things up a little, by showing you some of my…
My year in outfit photos.
What a difference a year makes…
An Audrey Hepburn-inspired maternity look.
What’s your favourite colour?
My favourite green dress, still soldiering faithfully on in the 3rd trimester!
One of my favourite colour combinations. Also: a cat.
When maternity style gets boring, it’s time to break out the accessories.
On Mondays we wear pink. And also blue.
Because when I find a look I like, I never, ever stop wearing it. Like, EVER.
(Also nude opaque tights. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.)
(And yes, I can still walk in heels…)
And 3 things I want to buy NOW…
(*No unicorns were harmed in the making of this blog post…)
Because you can never have too many LBDs.
Where would we be without ASOS next day delivery?
… and I can’t quite believe I did it.
I know I’ve been complaining a lot about maternity wear lately, so today I thought I’d be uncharacteristically positive (I do that sometimes, just to keep you on your toes…), and list…
So, I wear sneakers now, apparently. Like, voluntarily, I mean. Not because I’m doing sport (I am definitely not doing sport…), and not just for comfort, either. I mean, I know no…
So, I’m huge now. And yes, I’m totally just saying that to get it out of the way, so no one needs to go, “Wow, Amber, you’re huge now!” – kind of…
So, it turns out pregnancy is a really good opportunity to try out the whole “‘capsule wardrobe” thing, huh? Seriously, it’s been YEARS since my wardrobe (or the usable part of it, at…
Hi, I’m Amber, and this is my fashion blog.
Well, OK, not really: while it is often described that way it’s not a fashion blog in the literal sense . You won’t find posts about fashion trends or runway shows here – in fact, you’ll find very little about fashion at all.
What Forever Amber is, then, isn’t so much a fashion blog as it is a style blog. I’ve always loved clothes, you see: ever since I was a teenager, I’ve been fascinated by personal style, and the way clothing can completely change the way you feel about yourself, and that’s what this site is about. So it’s a personal style blog, then, rather than a true fashion blog.
So, what can you expect to find here?
A little bit of everything, really. I mostly focus on daily outfit posts (although not so much with the “daily”, to be honest), showing you what I wear on a day-to-day basis, but I also like to throw in a few fashion tips and general thoughts on personal style.
Speaking of personal style, mine is most often described as “retro-inspired”, although that’s a little bit misleading: I do love retro style (particularly from the 50s and early 60s), but I rarely wear head-to-toe “retro”, and much prefer to mix my retro reproduction dresses with more contemporary styles. I like to call my style “classic” – you, of course, can call it anything you like, but be warned: I don’t follow trends, or subscribe to fashion rules, so what you’ll see here is very much my own personal style. My style philosophy has always been to wear what makes you happy: these are the clothes that make me happy, and I hope you’ll enjoy my posts, and stick around for a while!
