My Favourite Fashion Brands of 2015
Around about this time last year, I did a little roundup of the year, with an outfit photo for each month.
This year I WAS going to do something similar: then I thought, ‘Nah, I can’t be bothered. Also, people can just look through the archive if they want to see outfits from every month, can’t they?’ And yes, it’s true: they can. Instead, then, I thought I’d pay homage to some of the brands who’ve made those outfits possible this year. The brands without whom my bank balance would be all the richer, but my closet would be far poorer.
In other words, here are my favourite fashion brands of 2015 – plus a few of the items I welcomed to the wardrobe this year…
01. Chi Chi London
This time last year, I didn’t own anything by Chi Chi London. Now, however, I own ALL THE THINGS: well, four of the things, but it’s my ambition in life to own them all, and a very fine ambition it is too, I’m sure you’ll agree. This brand has been by far my favourite this year: I don’t think they’ve made a single dress I haven’t liked, and they’ve made so many that I absolutely LOVE that I couldn’t even count them. What’s more, they’re well made, reasonably priced, and fit like a dream: what’s not to love?
I’m sure it’ll come as no surprise to anyone to see Collectif in this list: they’re one of my favourite retro-inspired brands, and I’m almost afraid to check their website every week, because there’s almost always something new there for me to covet. This year, they made a lot of things in my favourite shade of green, too: I’d love them for that reason alone…
I couldn’t not include ASOS, could I? Actually, a lot of the ASOS items I’ve worn this year have been older purchases (or have been by Chi Chi London, which is sold at ASOS), which is why the list of newcomers to the closet is relatively short. This was actually quite suprising to me, because I feel like I’m never off the ASOS website: I did, however, renew my ASOS Premier membership this year, so I’m pretty sure you’ll be seeing a whole lot more from them in 2016…
ZARA has long been one of my favourite high street brands, and this year it was the source of my most expensive AND most worn item – the black biker jacket that’s rarely been off my back since I bought it – so I think it deserves a mention for that reason alone, don’t you?
I only added a handful of Boden pieces to my collection this year, but I’ve loved all of them, and I think they’re one of the best British brands out there. I love Boden because their clothes are so classic they always end up being some of the most frequently worn pieces in my collection, which is always a good sign.
Honourable mention: Lindybop
Most of my recent Lindybop purchases were made towards the end of the year, which means I don’t have many photos of them on the blog yet. They’ve definitely been one of my favourite brands of 2015, though: until this year I have to admit to not really paying too much attention to Lindybop for some reason, but they’ve made some of my very favourite dresses of 2015 (not all of which I actually bought, unfortunately!) so I’m sure you’ll be seeing much more of them here in 2016!

Needless to say, there are tons and tons of other amazing brands I could have included in this list, but I’m running out of time, so I’m going to stop there, or we’ll be here all night. Before you go, though, tell me: what were your favourite brands of 2015?
