If bloggers made fields, this is exactly the kind of field they’d make…

… one with poppies, and blue skies, and the summer sun beating down on it. It’s a field of dreams, really, isn’t it?

We discovered the field completely by accident, when we went out for a walk last week, in a local country park. Just as we were pulling out of the car park, we had to pause briefly to wait for a pause in the traffic, and, when it came, there was the field, directly opposite us – almost as if it had been waiting for us, in fact.

Well, as soon as I laid eyes on it, I knew we’d be coming back to take photos in it – and so did Terry, who simply gave me a resigned look when I started shrieking in excitement, and cursing the fact that I was wearing TOTALLY the wrong outfit. And what IS the right outfit to wear in a field, I hear absolutely no one ask? Er, probably not THIS, to be perfectly honest, but I wasn’t about to miss the opportunity to get some great photos, was I?

Luckily, the weather decided to co-operate for once, and a few days later we were back at the Field of Dreams, this time slightly more/less appropriately attired – and we even managed to remember the camera, too, which was handy. Yes.

As for the outfit: well, I figured the Field of Dreams deserved a Dress of Dreams to with it. This one was c/o Choies last summer, and it’s now sold out, unfortunately, which is a shame, because it’s one of my favourite items ever. Although it looks a bit “fancy”, thanks to the floral organza overlay, the slightly shorter length makes it easy enough to dress down, and perfect for a summer’s day. In a field, obviously…

Actually if I’d made that field I would have put a bit of shade/cloud cover in as I don’t like taking my pics in full sunshine 😉 Although you managed perfectly well, so I think it’s just me then… I was expecting this to be a Chi Chi dress actually, and then I got all excited thinking I could buy it! I don’t need another white summer dress with floral cut outs on it though…

It’s just opposite Almondell Park, as you’re leaving the car park – so pretty!

thank you! I’ve never been to Almondell either actually, although I think I’ve definitely missed the best of the weather. Mean and moody shots for me 🙂

I had to open this post right away when I saw the title (one of my favourite films) even though there are two other posts waiting to be read.
Your field of dreams is also my field of dreams. I love poppies and the poppy images are lovely. You look just like a summer day in that pretty dress 😍

Breathtaking! This series is one of the most beautiful things I’ve seen in a blog. You are stunning, as always, and I love the dress (and the shoes? They looked “satin-y.”), but my favorite photo is the one of the sun being blocked by the poppy. I am now going to have to try that effect.

I especially enjoy your blog for the photos. Case in point: I absolutely LOVE # 7 (poppy against the blue sky background). So many, many beautiful photos; thanks for sharing them!

Wow, so pretty, both you and the field!! You’re so right it is the perfect location for a pretty dress photo shoot, it’s amazing how many flowers there are! And that dress is so lovely, I love the subtle flower pattern overlay, it really adds something extra and the white contrasts so nicely with the flowers, I love the button up on the bodice as well it makes it a bit more casual.

Currently inhaling my third coffee of the morning: I’ve been averaging about 6 hours sleep per night this week, thanks to a certain someone deciding that sleep is for the weak, and that he’ll just be getting up two hours earlier than usual 🤦‍♀️ Really hoping it’s just a phase: while it’s going on, I’m not fit to be seen, though, so here’s a photo from our visit to the beautiful Drummond Castle Gardens last week - such a beautiful place! 🏰 .

AD | So sad to be checking out of @highlandheatherlodges this morning: we’ve had such an amazing time here - it’s a beautiful place, with so much to do nearby, that we’ve really only scratched the surface: although that *could* be something to do with all the time we spent in the hot tub, obviously 😉 Thanks for having us, guys - we’ll definitely be back!

AD | We’re spending a few days at @highlandheatherlodges in beautiful Perthshire, for what Terry is optimistically referring to as his ‘birthday week’. (I say ‘optimistically’ - we’re only here for three days, and his birthday was yesterday, but don’t stop believing, Terry!)⁣
⁣
There’s a hot tub for us and a playpark for Max, so needless to say, we’re having a fantastic time, and I’m already dreading having to leave. Today’s big question: can I pass as an under-12, so I qualify for a pony ride at the nearby wildlife centre? 🤔 (On second thoughts, don’t answer that one...)⁣
