Casual Friday | The Gingham Capri Pants
Yes, folks, it’s back: it’s Casual Friday – the blog series that just won’t quit, no matter how much you secretly want it to!
Actually, that’s not quite true, is it? Casual Friday has, in fact, quit quite a few times now, but when we finished decorating the bedroom last month, I go to thinking I might revive it again. I was mostly motivated in this by the thought that it would be super-easy to stand against the white bedroom wall and get a few quick photos, without having to battle the wind, the rain, The Others, my own hair, and all the other fun stuff that comes with taking photos outdoors. As it turns out, though, I’m just as bad at taking selfies against a white wall as I am at taking them anywhere else (Seriously, all you bloggers who actually take your tripods and remotes outdoors to shoot, I salute you: you are the heroes of the blogging world!), and my outfits aren’t any more interesting against it either, so another idea bites the dust! Ah well, easy come, easy go…
Anyway, this may not be the first of many Casual Fridays, but these gingham capri pants have been one of my favourite purchases of the year so far, so I figured I should probably write about them before they sell out completely. Which has almost happened: whoops! As some of you might recall, I’d already purchased one pair of gingham capri pants this year when I spotted these ones on Sian over at Rebel Angel, and my heart almost broke with the realisation that there were capri pants in the world that I hadn’t already tried to buy. How could I have let that happen?!
Well, I quickly put that right, and then I put it right two more times, because yes, I now have three pairs of these trousers: these ones, the polka dot version, and, er, the polka dot version. By which I mean that I bought ONE pair of the polka dot version, then realised I was wearing them roughly every second day, and that if I continued like that, I’d totally wear them out. Wearing out a favourite item if clothing is one of my biggest fears in life (After being beheaded, obviously. And now also being burned at the stake, because THANKS, Game of Thrones: I owe you one…), so I waited for a sale, then I ordered another pair, and, yeah, now I have three. I do that, sometimes. I like to call it “being prepared”. You may call it “being a shopaholic” – at least one of us will be right.
I’ve also just realised that I didn’t just copy Sian by buying these trousers, I’ve also copied her styling of them, too, so now I look like a scary stalker. The poor girl will probably be sleeping with the light on, once she sees this. Awkward, huh?
P.S. I’ve been slacking off on my shopping section recently, which I started, then didn’t ever mention again, but there’s a new post up now, which started off as a just a regular old dress roundup, but turned into something a whole lot stranger. It’s possible I need more coffee. Or less coffee. Anyway, those posts don’t appear on the homepage, but if you subscribe by email, you’ll get notifications of them, and all of the other new posts. You’ll also get my endless gratitude, which is the main thing, right?[separator type=”thin”]
