Outfit | The Gingham Skirt
Everyone knows what God got up to on Days 1 – 7, when he was creating the world. What most people don’t know, however, is that on Day 8, God woke up with that sinking feeling, and realised there was something he’d forgotten. All of a sudden, it came to him:
“One day there will be fashion and lifestyle bloggers!” said God, wondering if there was perhaps something he should do to stop that happening. “And they’ll need places to take their outfit photos!” And so it was that God went forth and created fields of golden crops, just perfect for frolicking in on a beautiful spring day. Thanks God: we owe you one!
I mean, I THINK that’s what happened. It’s certainly what it felt like yesterday afternoon, when Terry and I turned a corner on the drive home from a day out in South Queensferry, and saw the most perfect golden field spread out in front of us. “Wow,” I said, as we got out of the car, “It’s almost like this is a gift just for us! No Others! No ugly buildings or random cars to try and crop out of the photo! And it’s not even windy!”
There was no mistaking it: it was the perfect place to take some photos, and as you can see, we didn’t hesitate to take advantage of it. We’d actually already taken a ton of photos that day back in South Queensferry, and I’ll be posting those too, because the town looked so pretty in the sunshine, but I couldn’t resist showing you these ones first: er, when I post the second lot, can you all just humour me by pretending not to notice I’m wearing exactly the same outfit in them? Because that would be awesome…

This makes me want Collectif’s new gingham skirt even more than I already did… I don’t have any gingham skirts – my life is not complete!! Also, I want a golden field for outfit photos – jealous.

One of your great combos, black, white and red. You look great and the field does you justice.

Where is the belt from please?

I’ve no idea, I’m afraid – it’s really old now, and I’ve long since forgotten where I got it! It would probably have been from New Look or somewhere like that – that’s where most of my belts came from back in the day!
