30 week baby bump

OK, so, technically I was just 29 weeks and six days pregnant when these photos were taken, but my bump didn’t change that much overnight, so I’m calling it 30 weeks: which is a number that seems almost as big as my belly is right now.

(Actually, I don’t really notice the bump change much at all from day to day – it’s only really when I look back at photos that I’m like, “WHOA, MY BELLY GREW AGAIN!” and Terry’s just all, “You don’t say…”)

Anyway, even although I still have another two months to go (all being well), I’m probably going to have to scale back a bit on the outfit photos from this point on, purely because I think you’ve seen almost everything that still fits me right now. I’m getting very, very bored of wearing the same old things now, but, at the same time, I know enough people whose babies arrived early to feel like it would be a bit of a waste of money to start buying more maternity clothes this close to the finish line (Yes, I know I’ll still be wearing them for a while once he’s here, but, oddly enough, that isn’t making me want to go shopping either. I know: who even AM I?).

Still, I do have just a couple of dresses to show you, including this one, which I’m sure longtime readers will have instantly recognised. It’s my beloved Collectif ‘Olive’ dress (Which doesn’t seem to be available in green this season, although I DO really want this navy version…), and I’ve worn it many, many times here in the few years I’ve owned it. Actually, now I come to think of it, I’m pretty sure I’ve worn it exactly as I’ve styled it in these photos (Er, if you can call picking out a bag and shoes “styling”, that is…): I’d normally feel like I should I be apologising for showing you exactly the same outfit twice, but the fact that I can actually still WEAR an outfit from my pre-pregnancy days right now is something of a miracle to me, so I’m just going to enjoy it while I still can.

So, obviously this isn’t actually a maternity dress: it is, however, stretchy enough to fit comfortably enough over the bump, so I’ve been waiting impatiently for the weather to get cool enough to wear it, just so I could add a little bit of variety to my maternity wardrobe. As it’s such a favourite dress, I’d normally have worried a bit about stretching it out in my current condition, but, well, I wear it so often that I actually picked up a backup version in the Collectif sale last winter, so even if that does happen (And I don’t actually think it will, as the fabric seems to just ping back into shape when I take it off – if only the same could be said for my post-partum figure, huh?), at least I won’t be without it. Although, now I come to think of it, I guess that means I should probably be looking for a back-up for the back-up now? Hmmmm…

I admire the fact that you can still walk in high heels at 30 weeks. How do you so that??

  • You look fantastic, Amber. Pleased to see you’re wearing heels as well. People often gleefully tell me that if/when I get pregnant (they’re great, aren’t they, those sort of people who gladly speculate on your future despite it being none of their bloody business?), I will have to forgo by heel collection. I’m glad to see this isn’t the case.

  • I am really invested in the fate of this dress and if it returns exactly to normal post pregnancy – seriously it’s like a wonder of the modern world, please come back and let us know! It’s nice to think that if I’m pregnant one day I’ve already got an item of maternity wear in the bag (I have this green version too)!

You look so lovely! ❤️ I always enjoy seeing your beautiful outfits, which you look so great in!! The green and leopard print are such a pretty combo. Don’t worry too much about ‘repeats’! Some of us (*coughmecough*) may have poor memories and still be just as delighted to see things again! Plus, it features your adorable bump now, so makes all the difference 😉
