I’ve been relying on my sunglasses even more than usual, lately.
And, I mean, it’s true to say that I’m rarely seen without sunglasses, but most of the time it’s because I’m secretly a vampire (As you can probably tell by the colour of my legs in these shots: I promise I’m not wearing white tights, guys, I just… rarely see the sun these days…), and the light makes me squint unattractively. Now, though? Now, it’s mostly down to the fact that I’m too tired/nauseous to even think about wearing makeup, most days. (Actually, that’s not quite true: I normally have the energy to put it ON, it’s just that, by the time I’m ready to fall into bed at night, I want to fall directly into bed, without having to pass GO, or spend ages removing my waterproof mascara first…)
In these shots, for instance, I’m wearing lipstick and brow pencil… and that’s it. And honestly, I could probably have skipped the brow pencil, because these sunglasses are large enough to just about cover my eyebrows anyway – hallelujah! These aren’t just any old sunglasses, though: they’re wooden sunglasses, which were sent to me last week by Fabrix Apparel, complete with the cool wooden case you can see in the photo. As I said, I love these, not just because they’re that little bit different from the plastic frames I usually wear, but also because the frames cover quite a bit of my face, thus effortlessly hiding my eye luggage, and lack of mascara and giving me a few more precious minutes of sleep every day.
As for the outfit, meanwhile, this was basically a last hurrah for this skirt, which I bought earlier in the year, and which is currently on sale. I can still zip it up (I’ve actually been finding skirts like this more comfortable than trousers and jeans right now, because the waistband sits above the bloat/bump, and doesn’t press on it!), but only just, so some maternity clothes are on their way to me as I write this – fingers crossed they fit!
