Party in the city where the heat is on…

If you could all just substitute the word “party” for “shopping” in the title of this post, that would make a lot more sense, because it has to be said that I didn’t do a whole lot of  “partying” in this outfit. Shopping, on the other hand… well, I wore this to visit Sawgrass Mills, which bills itself as the largest outlet mall in the USA. Now, I’ve no idea whether that claim is true (and I have a feeling I’ve just opened myself up to a bunch of comments from people telling me THEIR outlet mall is WAY bigger than MY outlet mall…), but all I can say is that it definitely FELT like the largest outlet mall in the USA, for sure.

That’s why today you get to see the very rare sight of me in flats. It’s also why I walked miles around that mall, but all I bought was an emergency pair of shoes, which I had to put on right away because my feet were absolutely KILLING me. I guess it’s possibly a little strange that these shoes…

polka dot wedges

(Payless, $12, probably going to buy them in green, too…)

… are more comfortable to me than the flats shown in the photos, but all I can tell you is: arch support, heel padding, room for the toes to move, and POLKA DOTS. I can also tell you that if shoes are going to hurt me, they’re more likely to be flats that heels, and that yes, I should totally have realised that before I tried to walk a kazillionty-one miles in 30 degree heat. Ahem.

Just in case you think I’m the only Stupid in the family, though, let me just point out that Terry ALSO had to buy emergency shoes that day, although he didn’t go for polka dot wedges, funnily enough. The irony of us going shopping, and only buying shoes to enable us to CONTINUE shopping wasn’t lost on us, but it was a good day anyway, and, sore feet or not, we’re just really enjoying the opportunity to spend some time in the sun, and not think about houses, work or anything other than shoes, shopping and sunshine. Which is just the kind of vacation I love, basically.

And I haven’t even been to the Louboutin store yet…

      • The Payless website has a pretty accurate “find near me” feature.

  • What bargainous shoes. Flats don’t give enough support, hence they are never really that comfy. X
