OUTFIT | Stripes and a shirt
Oh look, I’m wearing a stripe skirt again: how unusual…
As you can probably tell from all of the outfit posts I’ve been doing lately, summer seems to have arrived early in Scotland this year (She said, cruelly tempting fate…), which has been both a blessing and a bit of a curse, really.
I mean, it’s MOSTLY a blessing, obviously. Some years, summer doesn’t arrive here AT ALL, and given that I spend 90% of the year complaining about how cold it is, I’m not about to start complaining when I finally get to see the sun, don’t worry. Although warm weather allows me to really make the most of my wardrobe, and finally start feeling like myself again when I get dressed in the morning, though, I have to admit that that harsh sunlight is no friend to the fashion bloggers out there: which is why these photos ended up being a bit darker and blurrier than I’d ideally like, and would probably be better if it had occurred to me to remove the rogue hair tie from my wrist before we started taking them: whoops!
Oh well: you can blame the three men who were sitting right in front of my favourite wall, and who I was much to embarrassed to start posing in front of for that (Er, not for the hair tie, obviously: I accept full responsibility for that one…): sometimes the photo Gods are just against you, and there’s not a thing you can do about it. Still, I’m sure you’ve probably seen enough photos of me in a stripe skirt and knotted shirt by now to know that this is another one of my summer uniforms: I just really like the way the shirt makes the skirt feel a little more retro, somehow, and it’s at least a little bit different from my usual bardot top/other fitted t-shirt. Only a little bit, mind, but hey: I take these small victories where I can find them.
Now, who wants to bet that it’ll be pouring with rain by the time this post goes live?
