‘Tis the season to take indoor outfit photos
Indoor outfit photos, eh? Can’t live with them, but can’t blog without them at this time of year – or, at least, not if you’re blogging about your outfit, and it’s not exactly a warm one. I mean, I was prepared to wear stilettos in the snow for long enough to get a couple of photos, but if you think I’m setting foot out of the house with bare arms in December, well, you obviously don’t know Jack. Or Amber, even.
I actually wore this dress to a party a couple of weeks ago, but I’m only just getting round to posting about it now, so if I continue at this rate, you can expect to see my Christmas day outfit sometime mid-January, if at all.
Speaking of Christmas (and, let’s face it, it’s not like anyone’s talking about anything else right now, is it?), I’m not sure quite how much blogging I’ll be doing over the next few days: as I mentioned in this post, there doesn’t tend to be a lot of people around at this time of Β year, so I’ll be putting my usual blog tips and Morning Coffee posts on hiatus for the time being, and will pick them up again in the new year. I’m sure I’ll have something else I want to share before Christmas itself, though, so you probably haven’t seen the last of me yet – or, indeed, the last of the dreaded indoor photos, more’s the pity!

THE SHOES! <3
Let's face it these shoes are only allowed outside when it's warm, dry, no wind (no risk of falling and breaking a heel), no chance of rain/ puddles/ mud….
basically they're shoes to be worshipped with no chance of damage and therefore indoor outfit posts are allowed.

Oh, I did actually GO out in them – I just had to add several layers to be able to do it! Weirdly, I can tolerate bare legs for short periods of time, but I can’t stand the thought of bare arms outdoors in December – not even for the time it takes to get a photo!

I love you’re dress, it has a very classic vintage feel to it. As for indoor outfit photos, it’s so hard this time of year with about half an hour of decent light each day in which to take pics. You’ve done very well here! xxx
Amber
Tell me about it! I’ve considered just giving up outfits altogether in winter because the daylight is so limited – feels like everything has to be done in such a rush!
Jo
Amber, this dress is stunning on you! Is it the forest green colourway? I only ask because it looks more of a teal colour in your photos here. Thanks π
Amber
It is, yes – it’s just the combination of bad indoor lighting and flash photography making it look teal here: this is why I hate doing photos indoors! IN real life it’s closer to the colour on ASOS π
Jo
Great, thanks very much for the info. Great outfit anyway regardless of lighting, and I love your tree too!
Jo
Oh and wishing you a merry Christmas π
Myra
Your indoor shots are great, the lighting and composition are too. Love the dress . Have a great Christmas x
Amber
Thanks, Myra, hope you all have a great Christmas too X

I love the necklace! And I say that as someone who doesn’t wear much jewellery; weirdly, even though I don’t, it was the first thing I noticed. Classic look. Indoor outfit photos are all well and good if your house isn’t full of stuff with windows everywhere ruining the lighting like mine is… I can’t think wear I’d take a full length photo! Thankfully it’s a few degrees warmer down here usually :S
Amber
I’m exactly the same with jewellery – I hardly ever wear it (or when I do, it’s normally delicate pieces), but I really liked this, so figured I’d branch out! I’ve been meaning to buy some nice necklaces for a while now, but I always end up spending my money on dresses instead!

What a lovely outfit, Amber! Your indoors pictures are almost as gorgeous as oudoors ones. Also, seeing Rubin on the sofa reminds me of the so funny episode of his elopment. I can’t see anymore white faux-fur cushions without laughing since then.
Moreover, don’t worry, your energy isn’t spent in vain. Even if I don’t comment every post, I never miss one. I can’t be alone.
Have a very nice Christmas with your loved ones.
Amber
Haha, I can’t tell you how many times Terry and I will reach down and pat a cushion of an evening, thinking its him! It’s the ultimate disguise for him π
Tess
Gorgeous! Perfect from head to toe. Is the colour of the dress true to the photos? I’ve olive and golden skin tone. The outfit in olive shade makes me look like the Grinch. I haven’t tried on forest green.
Amber
It’s more like the colour shown on the ASOS site – it’s just bad indoor lighting making it look different in mine!
Tess
Thanks Amber. I totally want your ‘bad’ indoor lighting.
Your necklace completes the look, brilliant choice!
Tess
By the time of the post, your Christmas day outfit will be sold out again. Tsk… Tsk… Tsk…

You look absolutely gorgeous and the necklace is beautiful! I’ve had my eye on that dress for some time now myself. Would you say it’s true to size? Unfortunately that style doesn’t suit my figure, but I’m thinking of buying it for my mom, who, unlike me, has a waist.

Hi Amber, if you don’t update till after Christmas and this is the last we hear of you till then I just want to say ”Merry Christmas” I hope you, Terry and Rubin all have a lovely day.
P.S: You look fine indoor shot – you have nothing to worry about! x

When I saw this dress on ASOS, I had two thoughts coming to my mind at the exact same time 1) I WANT this dress, 2) I am sure I’ll see it on one of the blogs of Amber – if not on herself :). I love it and it looks great on you! Merry Christmas!
Joyce
I love your dress, it’s forest green color look so gorgeous.

Lovely photos even for being indoors. Such a pretty dress and love that color. I wish my indoors were as uncluttered as yours. I have nowhere to take photos inside even if I wanted to. π
