Week in Photos
Happy Thanksgiving, American readers!
Happy Thursday, everyone else! Honestly, now that Black Friday is officially a THING here in the UK, I think we should get Thanksgiving, too. Yes, I’m aware how weird that would be, but I’m actually not much of a fan of sales (Because, The Others. Also, the things I want are never in the sale, UNLESS they’re sold out in my size, in which case they’re DEFINITELY in the sale. Because that’s the way it works.), and I AM a fan of eating a lot of food, and having a day or two off, so I’m in. Failing that, and given that a huge percentage of my usual visitors won’t be online today, I figured now was as a good a time as any for some blurry iPhone photos.
Wait, what am I saying: EVERY day is a good day for blurry iPhone photos, amiright?
Anyway, it’s been a while since I did a diary post, so even though it’s not over yet, here’s a quick look at my week in photos (so far…):
These were all taken earlier this week at the Handmade Burger Co. in Glasgow: it’s a national chain, but the food is all handmade on the premises, and it’s OMGSOGOOD. I had the cranberry and brie chicken burger, plus a generous helping of Terry’s waffle sundae, and it was all so tasty that we’ll definitely be back. Hopefully soon. I wish I was there right now, actually.
I’ve been fighting off a bit of a lurgy this week, and the weather has reverted back to “all rain, all the time”, so I decided to cheer myself up a bit by opening these handmade soaps I bought a couple of weeks ago. It’s not like me to get into the Christmas spirit early (Or, you know, AT ALL…) but the ‘Santa Baby’ soap smells SO GOOD that it leaves the entire bathroom smelling sweet for hours after I’ve used it: you just can’t buy a simple pleasure like that, can you? (Oh no, wait, you can: it’s £2.50.)
Also on the theme of “things I’ve been doing to cheer myself up”, I bought a new set of bedlinen from Next. (Er, I know you can’t really see it in this photo, but white bedlinen is white bedlinen, you know? I mean, it’s NICE, but there’s not a whole lot to see…) This was actually as much necessity as it was luxury, because the old set was waaaay past its best, but it’s always nice to have crisp, clean sheets to climb into, isn’t it?
Speaking of the house…
We got that new kitchen table I’ve been banging on about! This is a horrendously bad photo of it, which makes it look about half the size it actually is (it’s oval, not round), but it’s so dark right now that none of the photos I took did it any justice, unfortunately. We’re in the process of hunting down a pendant light to hang above it, though, so I’ll try again once we have that: in the meantime, I’m sure the table will be popping up in some upcoming blog posts (like tomorrow’s, for instance…) so try not to let the suspense keep you awake too much.
Finally, this isn’t my photo, and it wasn’t even taken this week, but how gorgeous is this?
This was taken by my mum, who was dog-sitting that day, and who apparently gets much nicer weather than we do, even although she only lives a mile away. Seriously, though, THIS is what November looks like in the movies: why can’t it look like this ALL the time? Wouldn’t that be nice?
