Window of Opportunity
I liked this jacket so much I bought it in two colours: this bottle green and the tan version that’s still available. Yeah, I know: I went a bit crazy with the ol’ biker jackets this season, huh? Those things are like buses, though: you don’t have any at all for YEARS, and then three come along all at once…
As much as I love them, though, the problem with biker jackets and the British weather is that the window of opportunity in which you can actually wear the aforementioned jackets is so pitifully short. Last week, for instance, it was still warm enough (albeit unseasonably so) to not really need a jacket at all. This week, on the other hand? This week it’s almost cold enough to bypass the jackets altogether and head straight into coats-and-boots territory. Damn.
Still, I’m making the most of this sweet spot of perfect biker-jacket weather while I still can. I actually had quite a few outfits planned featuring this particular jacket (Honestly, I just didn’t realise how much I needed a dark green biker jacket in my life until I actually had one…), so I’m keeping everything crossed that it stays warm enough for me to wear them. And if not, well, I DO have a thermal vest, is all I’m saying. And I’m not too proud to wear it, either.
In other news, today is the day we’re having the hall floor dug up, which I’m sure will be about as much fun as it sounds, i.e. no fun at all. I wouldn’t know for sure, though, because I’m having to vacate the premises for the duration of the work (Partly because Rubin will lose his tiny mind when he realises there are MEN! In his HOUSE! But also because the part of the hall they need to dig up is right at the bottom of the stairs, so if I stay here, I’ll be trapped upstairs for hours, with no working bathrooms. Which would certainly be one way to make an already fun-free experience even LESS fun, don’t you think?), so by the time you read this, I’ll be out wandering the streets like a little lost soul. Nah, I’m kidding: I’ll be at my parents’ place. Or possibly at TK Maxx. Well, I have to go SOMEWHERE while the hall’s being dug up, don’t I?
Anyway, as un-fun as today will be, I’m very much looking forward to having the full complement of working bathrooms again, and also to being able to clean my floors. I’ve missed that.
