Weekly Wishlist | 4 Winter Coats I’d Fight You For
Something a little bit different for you today, folks: every week I bookmark/pin a ton of clothes and other stuff I want to buy/write about/just look at, and then I forget all about it, and then it sells out, and I cry into my pillow and stuff.
This week, though, I figured that rather than doing that, I’d start posting a weekly wishlist, so you can obsess over it too. It’ll make me feel less alone, you know? I’m starting off with one of my favourite topics at this time of year: winter coats. Which I NEVER get tired of looking at, no matter how many of them I have. I guess it’s the one good thing about living in a cold climate, huh? Anyway, surprisingly for me, there are currently only four coats on my wishlist right now: slightly less surprisingly, however, I’ve stuck to just two colours, and yes, one of them is forest green. Because OBVIOUSLY. So here they are:
Four winter coats I’d totally fight you for*
OK, so this one isn’t actually a coat, it’s a jacket. And it’s completely sold out. So, yeah, we’re off to an awesome start here, aren’t we? Seriously, though, there is literally (LITERALLY) nothing I wouldn’t do for this jacket, so all I have to do now is sit here at my desk and relentlessly refresh the Collectif website until it comes back into stock in my size: and trust me, it will. Oh, it will. And when it does, I will pounce like a cougar. Do cougars pounce? I’ll pounce like something that’s really, really good at pouncing, anyway. Then I’ll explain to Terry that we’re not going to be eating this week, but hey, on the plus side, lookit this jacket! I’m sure he’ll understand.
“But what would you wear with the jacket, Amber?” I’m going to pretend I hear you cry, so I have an excuse to show you this dress:
I would wear this dress with it. I will literally die if I don’t get to do this. I’m actually starting to consider a letter to Santa right now, not even joking…
Odalie Princess Coat, £292
This one is from Anthropologie, which is one of those stores I sometimes like to take Terry into, because he likes to look at the decor and then recoil in horror over how expensive it all is. I don’t normally even bother looking at the clothes, because when I do, I’ll end up seeing something like this coat, and then I won’t want to go on living without it. Which will be hard, really. (I’m joking, I’m joking. I mean, it calls itself a ‘Princess’ coat, and I already HAVE a princess coat, don’t I? There’s always room for another one, obviously, but… maybe not this year. Or next year, even.)
La Redoute winter coat, £74.95
Sticking with the baby blue theme, this winter coat is a little more affordable, but I love the colour, which would make a nice change from all of the forest green and camel I always wear at this time of year, wouldn’t it?
I left this one for last, because I’m pretty sure you’re all going to hate it, then I’ll feel sad for it, and have to buy it, just so it doesn’t feel unwanted. Faux fur’s like that, isn’t it? You either love it or hate it, and this is… well, this is GREEN faux fur, which is even less likely to appeal to everyone who sees it. Still, I kinda love it, and it appeals to the part of my brain that secretly likes to think I’m the kind of cool, rock chick kind of person who could actually pull this off. I think it’s possibly Kate Moss, actually. And having made that admission, I’ll leave you to enjoy the rest of your day…
(*No, I’m not joking. I’d never joke about something as important as winter coats, would I?)
(Oh, and if you want more winter coats, by the way, I’ve got a Pinboard full of them here…)
