Winter Pastels
When I said winter was coming, I was hoping it wouldn’t come quite so soon.
I actually don’t think winter officially starts until the 21st or thereabouts, but I always consider winter to have started with the first snowfall of the year (if not before). That happened on Saturday night, so on Sunday morning we woke up to a light smattering of snow, and I decided it was time to bust out that new winter coat I bought all the way back in September, and which has been hanging in the closet ever since, going, “Weeeaaaarrrr meeeeee!”
I thought I was being really clever by getting my winter coat shopping out of the way so early, because I was convinced that if I waited until I actually needed it, it would have long since sold out. Apparently my purchase of the coat in plenty of time for winter put the universe into a bit of a tailspin, though, so although it DID actually sell out fairly quickly, they’ve now re-stocked it. (Of course, if I HAD waited untilΒ now, that wouldn’t have happened, so I feel a bit like I’ve managed to cheat the universe at its usual game of spiting me: take that, universe!)
Anyway, although I did wear my new coat, it was only for the walk from house to car (and for these quick photos, obviously), so those of you wondering how I managed to walk in stilettos in the snow don’t need to worry: I didn’t – I just stood on it for a minute to get some photos. It’s all just smoke and mirrors, blogging, isn’t it?
Speaking of blogging, I better go and get on with it: I still have approximately eleventy thousand advance posts to write before I can take my Christmas break!

Don’t lose Rubin in the snow!

I’m jealous of the snow, my dog would love it. At around 8 degrees each day, there is no snow in Liverpool.
Love the coat, looks very pretty.

Awww, I am always a tiny bit jealous of those that can wear pastels in winter. They just don’t look right on me.
