Amber and the Amazing Mint Green Coloured Dreamcoat
When I promised you all a post on the mint green Boden dreamcoat earlier last week, I had absolutely no idea just how difficult it was going to be to keep that promise.
The first time I wore the coat, you see, I left it so late to try to take photos of it that it was almost pitch dark outside, and the photos were what Terry described as “Dramatic,” and I described as, “A hot mess.” So that was a no-go.
The second time I wore the coat, then, I was determined not to make the same mistake twice, so we left the house in blazing sunshine, took a right at the end of our street… and drove right into the thickest, most impenetrable fog I’ve ever seen. We drove on for a few miles to see if we could find our way out of it again, but nope – that fog was here to stay. We tried taking some photos anyway, but they were… well, they were what Terry described as “Atmospheric,” and I described as, “Where the hell am I? I can’t even SEE myself in these?” So THAT was a no-go, too.
And the third time I wore the coat? The sun was up, the fog had gone… and it wasn’t until we were about to head back to the car that Terry noticed I’d been carrying my bag the wrong way around – i.e. with the cute little cloud detail and gold lettering facing AWAY from the camera – the whole time. GAH! I was so determined not to let this coat defeat me that I was totally prepared to give it another go – and maybe even another one after that, if that was what it was going to take – but at that stage Terry told me he never wanted to take another photo of that damn coat again, as long as he lived, so that’s why these photos are what Terry described as, “The last ones I’ll be taking this week, and possibly ever,” and what I described as, “They’ll just have to do, then.” I’d have kicked myself, if I wasn’t too cold to move much by that point, so we headed back to the car, defeated.*
(*FOR NOW. Because I’m afraid to say that if Terry thinks he’s seen the last of this coat, he is very much mistaken. Sorry, Terry.**)
(**Not actually that sorry, tbh.)
Anyway, photography issues aside, the good news is that both the coat and bag are currently on sale, so if you fancy owning two of my very favourite things (Yes, I know I just got them both, but they’ve already reached ‘Favourite’ status…), now’s the time to do it. I just hope you have better luck photographing them…

Hi Amber, green isn’t really my colour (purple is!) but the coat is very nice and look very classy. xx

Thanks for the tights link, I’ve been after a decent pair of nude fishnets for months. Lush bag too.

I have a coat almost identical to this but in bouclé which I absolutely adore! Mint always looks fabulous on us pale ladies 🙂

Love the coat and the bag, and how you’ve styled it. You look fabulous (pity about the name, I agree). My daughter discovered mint and pale pink when she was about five. With her whole holiday savings money she insisted on buying a pair of mint dungarees ((they were very cute), telling me they would go with her pale pink Tshirt and much to my surprise she was right. She loved this outfit so much she refused to wear a cardigan over it. Fashionista in the making from an early age! Her brother and cousin felt sorry for her because she had spent all her money on the first day of our holiday and they spent the next two weeks buying her ice cream, sweets and treats.
