How many ways can I wear these red capri pants?
A couple of weeks ago I bought these red capri pants from Lindy Bop, as part of my ongoing bid to own all the capri pants in all the land.
Now, I WAS going to do a “three ways to wear” post with them, but then I thought, why stop there? Why, there must be 50 ways to wear your red capri pants, right? No, wait: that’s leaving your lover I’m thinking of, isn’t it? OK, well, I can’t promise you fifty ways to wear red pants (although I expect there ARE probably that many), but here are just a few to be getting on with…
What to wear with red pants
Shirt c/o Unique Vintage (similar); Head Over Heels shoes
01. Pin-Up 101
So, this is your basic ‘casual pin-up’ look, brought to you by my continuing love of white shirts, plus a cheeky bit of midriff, which I didn’t actually realise was quite so cheeky until I looked back at the photos and was all, “Oh yeah, there’s my belly.”. C’est la vie!
Blazer (similar) and top: H&M; New Look shoes (similar); Kate Spade bag*
02. Blazer n’ Breton
My fallback uniform: there are days when I actually don’t think I’d be able to dress myself without the help of one of my (many) trusty Breton tops…
03. The trusty trench
Three more items for the”couldn’t live without it” files: the H&M sweater I now own three versions off, because it’s just so soft and comfortable I can’t stop wearing it; the trusty trench, because obviously, and the red patent flats that I wear so often I’m amazed they haven’t fallen apart yet. And when they do, I WILL cry.
Top c/o Vivien of Holloway; beret; shoes
04. The beatnik beret
I have a new-found love of berets, which I totally blame CiCi Marie for. I also have a complete inability to pose normally in them, which I have no one to blame but myself for, so sorry about that.
H&M jacket; Dorothy Perkins tee; Marc by Marc Jacobs handbag
05. The casual red pants
I seem to have inadvertently made this post a homage to all of the things I wear most often, because this denim jacket is another one of those pieces that’s in constant rotation. What can I say, I like my classics…
Aaaand finally…
H&M sweater and boots; Dorothy Perkins scarf (similar)
06. The cold weather option
Well, I figured I should probably include at least one option I could actually wear right now, huh?

And there you have it: 6 ways to wear red capri pants! I’m sure there are many more, too, but I’m just going to be honest with you – by the time I took the last set of photos, it was dinner time. And I. Was. Starving. Well, it’s hungry work standing around wearing clothes all day, dontchya know…

Ha! You totally can blame me for the abnormal posing too, I’m sure I’ve had some questionable positions in berets before now… That sounds way more exciting than it actually is. I’m now off to Lindy Bop to buy those dogtooth cigarette pants that I’ve been doing wonderfully well to ignore for weeks, but now you’ve reminded me how much I love this shape. I’m actually wearing my black pair right now (also your fault), so I don’t think that helps… The signs are all there.

This is very timely since I have some brand new red capris! So far, I’ve only worn them a la #2 but I’m going to dig through my closet for a suitable scarf now.

ADORBS! I love #1 & #3 especially. Need all of these items in my wardrobe NOW. 🙂

I’m glad you included the ankle boots—I know we think of cropped pants as a warmer month item, but I think they can be the perfect length for our ankle boots without worrying about cuffing or tucking (as much)! (And if it’s really cold, I’ll add a pair of hose or tights under them)!
Love this post! jodie

I’d never have thought to wear capri pants with ankle boots but they look really cute! I do actually have a pair of red ones but I hardly ever wear them because I’m never quite sure what looks good with them. I shall have to bookmark this post to remind me! Thanks 😀

I have a new desire to own red pants and wear them in exactly (ok almost exactly) the same outfits as you have! I hope it’s not bad behaviour to copy blogger’s style to the tee 🙂
Deanna
I love these ideas! I have a pair of cobalt capris, and can sub those in for the red in all of these outfits – another pin for the win! It’s always fun to read your blog – thanks for all your hard work!
Heather
Ok, I now need a pair of red capri pants in my life. I love all the looks but the one with the jean jacket I have all the pieces (except the capris, obvi), so I could totally potentially be a copy cat 😉
Maria
I really like all these looks, but especially the wintery one, so classy!
Alysa
so I clearly need red pants just like those!!
Chiarina
I adore the last winter look. I have a feeling Capris and ankle boots might be one of those looks I fervently admire on others but dislike on myself, but I think I might just HAVE to try…
Grasshopper
All of these looks are terrific and make me want a pair of red capris! I love that there’s so much remix potential in the outfits you created. It definitely helps me see how to take pieces from my closet and combine them in new ways. And I’m loving the Kate Spade purse!
Justina
Your sense of humor keeps me coming back to your blog every time! I never read one of your posts without smiling 🙂
Anoushka
Aw love all of these, particularly the first look and the beret one, I’ve been meaning to invest in a beret!
