Pawsome: absolutely Pawsome
Pawsome: a subscription box for dogs
You’ve all heard of beauty boxes, right? Well, what do you say to the idea of a doggie box?
Wait, wait: lower your expectations here, folks, it’s NOT a box full of dogs. That really WOULD be pawsome. Er, awesome. No, this is a box full of TREATS for dogs instead, and I know at least one member of this household who thinks that’s WAY better than a box full of puppies. When the people at Pawsome asked me if Rubin would like to try one of their surprise boxes of goodies, however, I thought I better ask him first.
“Rubin,” I said, “would you like a…”
“YES!” said Rubin, immediately. “I DON’T CARE WHAT IT IS, I WANT IT AND I WANT IT NOW. WHEN CAN I HAVE IT? NOW? CAN I HAVE IT NOW?”
Well, he couldn’t have it RIGHTTHATSECOND, but the box did arrive this week, and Terry and I made the rookie mistake of allowing Rubin to open it himself.
CAN I OPEN THE BOX? CAN I OPEN THE BOX? CAN I OPEN THE BOX? CAN I OPEN THE BOX?
He was very excited. I mean, he always IS excited by mail, but when he realizes it’s mail FOR HIM, his excitement knows no bounds. We had to help him a bit, on account of the whole “no opposable thumbs” thing, but as soon as the box was open, he stuck his head in and made off with his first prize: a rawhide bone, which he decided he would eat complete with the cardboard packaging:
OMGBONE!
Well, we captured him, and unwrapped the bone, amid scenes of tremendous excitement:
LIKE A DOG WITH A BONE.
And that was basically the last time we saw him without that damn bone in his mouth for the next two days. Seriously, every time I saw him after that, he looked like this:
It was like he’d never seen a rawhide bone in his life… which is strange, because Rubin has seen a LOT of rawhide bones in his life, and he has eaten every last one of ’em. For some reason, though, this one seemed to become a particular obsession with him, and for that reason, it took us a bit of time to divert his attention to the other items in the box, which included a couple of squeaky/chewy toys:
And also a doggie toothbrush and toothpaste set. Which, naturally, he decided to eat:
I think the second photo is possibly the funniest one we have of him. I’ve seriously looked at it about 50 times since it was taken, and it’s made me laugh every single time. It just SO sums up Rubin and his personality… and his habit of thinking everything is food, even things that are PATENTLY NOT FOOD. I mean, this is an animal who once ate a live spider… and that’s not the MOST disgusting thing he’s ever eaten.
He also received a dog whistle (Which will be handy for alerting Terry to the fact that I need MOAR coffee of a morning…), and a bag of healthy treats, which he loved almost as much as the rawhide bone. In fact, he tried to take the packet in his mouth WHILE HE WAS STILL CARRYING THE BONE AROUND at one point. As I said, the toothpaste photo TOTALLY sums him up.
In conclusion, I think we can safely say that Rubin thoroughly enjoyed his Pawsome box, which has provided him with hours of entertainment so far. I think Terry and I possibly appreciated it even MORE than Rubin did, though, if only for the LOLs it provided us with as we watched him enjoy it.
Looks like we’re going to need some more of those bones, huh?
* Pawsome boxes cost £19.99 per month, and the value of the contents is almost always more than the cost of the subscription. Rubin received a complimentary box to test: his opinions, however, are his own. Because he is a terrible actor.

OMG! Rubin is too cute! The photo of him eating the toothpast is amazing…
So, Rubin is a lucky dog! See how good the box is for him!
(My parent’s dogs doesn’t like rawhide bones…I think it’s because he’s too lazy eh eh

Oh my gosh, he is SOOOOO CUTE! Those pics are the best. What kind of rawhide bone was it, if you remember? My dog also loves them, but this one must be special. Or maybe, like you said, he just enjoyed the process of getting it so much. Just like me when I get a box in the mail.

Because he’d been trying to chew the package, I threw it out without thinking to check it, unfortunately – it didn’t look any different from the ones he’s had before, to be honest, but it seemed to last much longer for some reason: he normally polishes them off really quickly (even ones that promise to offer “hours of chewing” – I seriously don’t know how he does it!), but we actually had to take this one away from him for “breaks”, because he was so obsessed with it!

Hooorey for the dog lover in my blogs list! I’m every time so happy to see dog’s pictures in blog time line ♥
I was thinking lately to buy my pups tooth brushes and some tooth paste. Hope to find it in London.
Hug your gorgeous fluffy dog from me ♥

Oh, he’s very cute. I’m not normally a dog fan, but I make an exeption for him.

That picture with the toothbrush – pure gold. Gave me literally the biggest grin. Ah, this makes me want a dog so much… my living situation with the working full-time and commuting 4 hours a day doesn’t really lend itself to a furry friend… one day! In the mean time I will entertain myself with pictures of other people’s adorable dogs on the internet 😉

This is so adorable! My pup Ru got her first Barkbox this weekend, and while she definitely enjoyed the treats and toys, I think I was even more excited than she was, haha. I think doggie subscription boxes are such a fun idea!
