Trashy Diva Honey dress

Trashy Diva Honey dress

Trashy Diva Honey dressHappy (belated) Easter, everyone! I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend, if you had time off: ours was super-sunny, which was amazing, and meant that it was FINALLY warm enough for me to ditch the tights, and break out some spring florals – yay!

The florals in question came courtesy of Trashy Diva, whose ‘Honey’ dress is one of my all-time favourite designs. If you’re a long-time reader, you might recall the green satin version of this dress, which I bought for my friends’ wedding (and had much angst about getting into the country on time…). I love that dress so much that I currently have it on display (on a dress form I stole from my mum – sorry, mum!) in my dressing room, rather than hanging up with all the other, lesser dresses, so when the brand asked if I’d like to try the Jade Watercolor version they’ve just released, well, it wasn’t exactly a huge dilemma for me, let’s put it that way.

This dress has exactly the same shape as the original, but comes in a cotton sateen, which makes it a little more summery, and a little less “special occasions only”, which is the case with the heavier, shinier satin of my plain green version. Add in some deep pockets on the full skirt (you all know how much I love a skirt with pockets, right?), and a print which just screams “spring” (And also “Amber”), and it’s basically a dream of a dress. Oh, and it almost matches my much-loved Hell Bunny ‘Paloma’ cardigan: the two shades of green aren’t identical, unfortunately, but they were close enough for a day when it wasn’t quite warm enough for bare arms! (Almost, though: God, I LOVE spring…)

Now I just need another dress form, so this one can go on display, too…

  • BEAUTIFUL DRESS. It’s just perfect for you – are you sure it wasn’t made for you? I love this style and made something very similar earlier in the year. Am now v. tempted to have a look for some fabric which I can use and make something similar…that wouldn’t be breaking the spending ban.

  • You look amazing with this dress!
I made the mistake of checking in which colours it’s available… Now I want them all… And I’ll most definitely will have to find a sponsor ;0)

  • It is such a beautiful dress! I remember when I first saw your other one, I was in love as far as being in love with a dress goes. I would probably have it on display too. 🙂

  • It’s absolutely stunning and fits you like a dream – what more could you want from a dress?? I don’t own anything Trashy Diva (‘yet’, she adds), but they’ve long been on my Most Wanted list. One of these days…

Just gorgeous! I could totally buy a couple of those instead of a wedding dress, right…..?

  • It’s a stunning dress and I’d have it on display too if I had it. And if I had my mannequin. She currently lives at work though modelling, our uniform. I really need to get her back!

  • A redhead in green – what could be more perfect? This dress is really glorious on you. Trashy Diva always puts out really great pieces, and I love how you’ve styled the dress here. Perfect for spring and summer.

Probably a silly question, but what’s going on in the bodice of this dress? It’s kind of a barmaid style with…uh…ruffled curtains stuffed into the cleavage. I’ve never seen anything quite like it before. Is it two separate parts? I do love the green color.
