We should be going to Florida next month.

Needless to say, we are not going to Florida next month, because, pandemic. (And no, I’m still not over it, just in case you were wondering…)

We might not be able to on holiday, though, but at least we’ve managed to bring a little bit of that holiday to US, in the form of this personalised canvas print from My-Picture.co.uk :

2020 lockdownThe photo is one I took last year, when we visited Disney’s Boardwalk (You can see it in my post on that trip , actually…), but the shot is one I must have taken a dozen or more times over the years. The Boardwalk, you see – as I also mentioned in my post last year – is my ‘happy place’: and if I can’t be there in person, I figured the next best thing would be to have this memory up on my wall, where I’ll be able to see it every day, and maybe feel a little bit like I’m about to walk down the steps into the Florida sunshine, rather than just heading down to the kitchen to spend yet another day on lockdown. Well, I can dream, right?

personalised canvas printThe process of having this made, meanwhile, was super simple: in fact, choosing the photo was the hardest part, really, mostly because I wanted something that would be in keeping with the style of the other canvas prints in the house, the majority of which have a vaguely retro feel to them. Once I’d picked out this one, though, it was as simple as uploading it to the My-Picture.co.uk website, choosing the size and format I wanted (I chose canvas, but there are tons of different options, from traditional framed prints to things like cushions, mugs and blankets…), and then hitting the ‘order’ button. I was really happy with the way it turned out, particularly in that the print I got is exactly like the photo I uploaded, without any changes to the colours, etc, which is always a worry when you’re having something printed.

Me and Max, April 2020If you’d like a personalised print of your own, My-Pictures.co.uk are offering Forever Amber readers an additional 15% off the already-discounted prices on the site, and all you have to do is enter the code FOREVERAMBER at checkout, then come back and tell me what you’ve chosen to have printed. (OK, you don’t HAVE to do that last bit: I’m just being nosey. Please do, though…) As for me, meanwhile, I’ve just realised that taking these photos is literally the closest I’m going to get to an actual holiday any time soon, so I think I might have to go and look at that photo again for real…

Love the canvas. Just going to have a good look through my photographs to see if I’ve got anything that could work.
