Blue sky, blue dress
Last week, Links of London kindly sent me this beautiful personalised gold pendant, and before I go any further with this post, I have to just quickly show you the packaging it came it, because seriously, how pretty is this?
I always think jewellery should feel like a treat, whether you’re buying it for yourself or for someone else, and this definitely does: in fact, I almost didn’t want to open it and disturb the perfect little bow (which I’ve clumsily re-tied for this photo, obviously: AS IF I’m going to resist opening the box while I quickly set up a photo opportunity!). Open it I did, though, and here’s what was inside:
The pendant is from the brand’s Narrative Collection, and as I’ve mentioned previously, I’ve been really into yellow gold lately, so it’s a very welcome addition to my slowly expanding collection. To go with it, Links of London also challenged me to put together an outfit for £50, and, well, there was only one place to go, wasn’t there?
Some of you might recognise this dress as being the twin sister of the white version I bought a few months ago. So, yeah, I bought the same dress twice, and I have absolutely no excuse other than that I LOVE this dress, and it was down to £21 in the sale. Twenty. One. Pounds. Seriously, if you can find a dress this nice for £21, I want to know where you shop (That’s not a rhetorical question by the way: I REALLY want to know where you shop…), because it’s just such amazing quality, and such a perfect, 50s-inspired shape that honestly, I’d buy it in more colours too, if they had them.*
(*OK, maybe not.)
With the rest of the budget, I also managed to fill the “gold strappy sandals” shaped hole in my closet with these vintage-inspired heels by Glamorous. These are surprisingly comfortable given the 4.5″ heel, so I have high hopes of them. Finally, I promised myself I wouldn’t mention the weather in this post, but it seems that my “one day of summer” declaration was a little premature: look at that blue sky behind me!
P.S. Boring technical note: I’ve had quite a few people contact me to say that my Bloglovin’ feed isn’t updating… I contacted Bloglovin’ a few days ago about it, and have emailed and tweeted them several times since then, but I can’t seem to get a response, and am a bit lost as to what to do! I’ll keep on trying to contact them, but in the meantime, you might be better following on Twitter or Facebook (or subscribing by email) if you were relying on Bloglovin’ for updates: so sorry![separator type=”thin”]
