Casual Friday | Double Stripes
So, as you’ve probably worked out by now, for this ‘Casual Friday’ series (now into its third week in a row, people: go, me!), I’m choosing to interpret “casual” as simply “outfits in which I’m wearing trousers”. By doing that, I can totally get away with wearing stilettos and whatever else I fancy, because trousers = casual as far as I’m concerned. Sometimes I may choose to interpret “causal” as “outfits in which I’m wearing flats”, and THAT way I’ll be able to wear fancy prom dresses, because FLATS. You follow the logic, I’m sure.
These trousers are the Collectif ‘Bonnie’ cigarette pants, which I bought for £10 in the sale a few weeks ago, and have been wearing to death ever since. As well as the length, though, I also really like the high waist on these, which helps balance out my stumpy legs a bit, and also allows me to wear them with my growing collection of little cropped sweaters and cardigans.
Speaking of cropped sweaters, this one is from Miss Selfridge, and although it looks yellow and black on their website, it’s actually tan and black in real life, which was a bit of a relief: yellow and black might have made me look a bit like a bee, but these colours just made me look like a cartoon bank robber – all I need is an eye mask and a knit cap, and I’m good to go. Oh, and this time around, I’ve matched my shoes to my top. Had to be done…

I cannot see the merest hint of leg stumpiness in any of your outfit photos. 🙂

I really, really wish I had shoes that matched my tops. My shoedrobe is unfortunately not that stylish due to how difficult it is to find shoes that fit me… sad, sad times. I also wish my Bonnies looked this good on me but they need length alterations and a bit elsewhere if I’m being brutally honest with myself… I still love them though, they’re so comfy!

First, I love your shoes, a lot. Second, and completely unrelated, I saw a man who looks exactly like your husband at a McDonalds in Kentucky today. So much alike, in fact, that I immediately looked behind him to see if he was followed by a pretty redhead in stripey stilletos. Thought you might get a laugh that he has an American doppleganger 🙂

Love this look, and even happier to discover that the tip is in the Miss Selfridge sale! x

Ooohhhh SUPER cute! I really like how the stripe motif is mirrored up top and on your shoes, same colors and all, topped off with a matching bag. Love! I need those shoes….
