Coffee & Cake
I give you fair warning, readers: this post is basically just cake porn. There are worse things in the world, though, right?
This week, the weather randomly decided to suck a little less than it usually does at this time of year, so Terry and I decided to make the most of it, with a quick stop at The Cupcake Cafe, which is a semi-regular haunt of ours. Because there are cupcakes. And, well, a cafe. It also has a lovely little garden area, which it was warm enough to sit out in and enjoy the last of the summer sunshine, along with a cupcake or two. Or three.
The biggest issue here, as you can probably tell from the first few photos, is deciding which cake to go for. It took a bit of time, but I settled on the Bakewell Tart cupcake (which was AMAZING, seriously), while Terry, who had a harder time making his mind up, got two: a chocolate/coconut mix and a caramel crunch, both of which were every bit as good as they look. Not that I would know, obviously. No way am I one of those women who only orders one cake for herself and then steals her husband’s food. Uh-uh.
We didn’t stay long, but it was a nice little break, and good to feel the sun on our skin one last time. Kinda wishing I hadn’t taken all those photos now, though, because, man, I could REALLY fancy a cupcake right about now…
