Coffee Love, Scrub Love
I’m a coffee addict…
… and I do mean “addict”, by the way. Like, if there’s a 12-step program, I should probably start it. I’m not going to, though, because I don’t actually want to give up coffee. Seriously, are you kidding me? It’s one of the great loves of my life. Some days I just want to lie down in the coffee and rub it all over my body… which, funnily enough is exactly what I’ve been doing with this new coffee scrub.
(I know, corniest intro ever, huh? I don’t know what I was thinking…)
This is by Scrub Love, and before I even opened it, I was impressed with the baby pink envelope and polka dot packaging: well, I do love a dot, as you know. As luck would have it, the package arrived just as I was about to jump into the shower, so I grabbed the ‘Original Lovin’ blend, and off I went. Now, stupid confession coming up: I (obviously) knew this was a coffee scrub, but I seriously wasn’t prepared for JUST how coffee-like it is. “Wow,” I said, talking to myself again (What? You don’t talk to yourself in the shower? Who do YOU talk to, then?), “This REALLY smells like coffee!” Um, no kidding Amber: awesome powers of observation right there.
It didn’t JUST smell like coffee, though: it smelt like orange-flavoured coffee – a fact I was sure I was imagining until I consulted the packaging and discovered that, yup, in addition to the roast organic coffee, pink rock salt, almond oil and Vitamin E which make up the all-natural ingredients, the scrub also contains sweet orange oil and vitamin C, plus organic orange peel. YUM. Have I ever mentioned that when a box of chocolates is opened in our house, I immediately steal all of the orange centres? Orange flavouring is another one of my favourite things, so this smelt delicious to me – in fact, it was a hard job not to try and eat the stuff, but I managed to resist, and just … er, scrubbed with it instead.
As far as the scrubbing goes, this does make a bit of a mess of the shower (good job it’s a shower, then, huh?), but it’s worth it because the finely-milled particles do a great job of exfoliating the skin. Exfoliation is yet another one of those “girl” things that I tend to neglect, but the warm weather we’ve been having lately has convinced me I need to step up my game a bit in that department, because these milky-white legs aren’t going to exfoliate themselves, are they?
I’ve found I only need a tiny amount of this per application, so it should last a good, long while. Afterwards, my skin feels all fresh and kind of …. I’m going to say “zingy” here, and just hope you know what I mean. So, my legs feel zingy, and if that’s not a reason to try it, I don’t know what is. Oh no, wait, I DO know: because along with that bag of orangey goodness, I was also sent the ‘Mint Temptation‘ blend, and guys? It
tastes smells just like a peppermint cream. YUM.
